Everyone agrees microfleece is one of the best fabrics available for hunting. Mossy Oak Apparel has chosen it for APX Fusion products because it’s lightweight, and has great thermal protection, durability, and absolute quietness. The only way to make it better was to place VaporTec moisture management panels in the right spots, which they did to create a superior hunting product for the APX System.
-On target- I have to say that I really think this product is a must to have. I wore it all this season and will the next. It’s quiet, lightweight, and comfortable.
-Off target- I had problems with burrs and stickers clinging to the fabric. This didn’t bother me much, I thought of them as extra camoflage. lol.

When it comes to high-quality action-packed videos, very few can compete with the H.S. Video Department. H.S. continues to produce solid hunts every year. This video actually features three bucks grossing over 170 inches. That always grabs my attention.
-On target- I know when I pick up a H.S. video I’m going to get my money’s worth. The H.S. team really does make the most of every season.
-Off target- If I hear one more guy say “It’s Primetime” I’m going to stick that little earth scent wafer they got hanging from their cap up their you know what.

The second season of Dream Season TV puts two of the top teams from the Drury Outdoors roster against three teams pulled from a score of applications sent in after the first season. Through several daunting legs, three brand new amateur teams test their skills against not only seasoned hunters and videographers, but against Mother Nature herself. The reality style and competitive element takes you through the highs and lows of whitetail hunting, when every moment counts.
-On target- I like the format. The idea of taking outdoor TV to a new level will encourage the growth of hunting. I appreciate the Drurys’ fearless approach.
-Off target- While watching the shows, I’d find myself getting lost. I couldn’t quite figure out who was leading and by how much. And another thing, the phone conversation pieces between the Drurys’ and the participants in the beginning was pretty lame. Obviously you guys are faking it, but you didn’t even do a good job of that.

The second installment of the Xtreme Outdoors series proves to be worthy. Karl Z and his pro staff have compiled some great moments in the field. The DVD consists of mostly bow hunts and is filled with over the shoulder action. This is what pro action is all about.
-On Target- The creative intro shows that they’re not afraid to deviate from the norm. A lot of videos out there now seem to steer towards flashy transitions, tons of voice over and loud music, which ends up losing the viewer to a leftover roast in the fridge. I like that this video is not over-produced. The real hunt can shine through.
-Off target- The transitions between the hunts could use some help. I’m talking about when the screen goes black and the Xtreme Outdoors logo pops up. To me, it seems as if you’re sitting on the shot too long. Maybe add some transition music to carry it. And Lastly, Karl ease up on the hat adjusting. It makes me want to staple your hat to your head. Better yet, what’s your size? I’ll send you a fitted cap.

The new STRIKER, is accurate and durable as any G5 fixed-blade broadhead, yet it has the convenience of easy to replace blades. With the incorporation of their exclusive ANIX Blade Locking System, this head prevails where other similar fixed-blade broadheads fail.
Designed 3 and a half years ago, G5 Outdoors finally unleashed the STRIKER to offer a 3 blade replaceable head to the hunter that wants ultimate sharpness, accurate flight and the durability of G5 Outdoors 100% Steel Tough Construction. Another high quality broadhead that’s Designed to Hunt.
-On target- I am using the 100 grain strikers this year and they’ve been preforming flawlessly. Last year I used the 85 grain Montecs and had no problem with them either. The reason for the switch was because I could replace the blades. I like the cut on contact tip and the fact that they’re 100% spin tested.
-Off target- Like I said, I had to switch from 85 grain to a 100 grain. The reason is because G5 doesn’t make an 85 grain Striker. This caused me to have to adjust my sights a bit but no worries. I’m back to shooting like Robin Hood in the prince of thiefs.

The professionals of Whitetail Country share some of their best and most memorable whitetail deer hunting experiences, strategies, tactics and techniques of the season. Each week they showcase different professionals and their most memorable hunts.
-On target- I like the concept of bringing all the great hunting personalities together and hearing their stories. The behind the scenes look at the pros from home is a nice bonus and creates a bond with the viewer and the pros.
-Off target- I either have chronic déjà vu or I’ve seen all the hunts on other shows or DVD’s before. Some more original content would be refreshing and a lot less redundant.

This show reveals an epic battle between two master food plotters out to prove who can produce the best food plots. The viewer is taken through every step in creating good food plots, including scouting and hanging stands. Then, they are shown the plots at work.
-On target- The show is very informative. As far as I know, it is the only show that takes you through the entire hunt. You get to see the early season groundwork, the scouting and hanging of stands and the outcome of such preparation.
-Off target- I have never been a big fan of Mark and Terry Drury’s hosting technique. Nothing against them, I just think I see and hear them way too much throughout the show. Back off a little Drury brothers and let the show flow.

Jack has been putting out hunting videos like it’s nobody’s business. Now he has a national show to showcase some of his greatest adventures. Jack doesn’t do anything half way. From the monsters he slays to the production level, it’s all as good as it gets.
-On target- Jack continues to show viewers awesome encounters and kills. He also employs some cameramen that aren’t afraid to get in there and get the good stuff. Some of the cameramen work is without a doubt in a league of its own in outdoor productions.
-Off target- If I were to pin point one thing behind Jack’s productions it would be Jack. I would like to see him loosen up and maybe crack a joke or two. I mean come on; you have a dream job. Everyone knows how much you live to hunt, try to show us more of that Jack.

Jon Brunson Outdoors produces exhilarating and interesting hunting & fishing shows for outdoors enthusiasts. Everything about this show is done well and it seems the experts agree. JBO has picked up awards right and left this year, from Best Show Open to Best Original Music.
-On target- Jon and his production team are not afraid to be different. Bringing the reality back into the hunt is what a lot of shows are trying these days. I think none have hit it like JBO.
-Off target- I think sometimes the camerawork is subpar. When you have a great open like JBO has, it would be nice to see the camerawork flow consistently. No doubt, World Hunting Association has similar issues, but are we talking about you or me Jon B?

I think this show is headed in the right direction. The Driven team brings you real hunting at its best, with a big focus on whitetail deer. Pat Reeve and his crew seem to always be in the right place at the right time to close the deal. I believe one of the largest bucks ever taken on film lies within the series.
-On target- I like the high energy that the show carries along with the great camerawork. I also appreciate the special interest segment. It helps set the show away from the pack and is usually very interesting.
-Off target- Now Pat, when you moved away from North American Whitetail TV, I think many of us expected you would change things up a bit. It seems to me you stayed pretty much with the same show concept and a pretty similar set design as well. I would of like to see a more original overall theme and structure in the episodes ahead.
