Summit’s New Openshot climber
![]()

With its integrated seat/hand climber, the OpenShot™ gives you new options in your treestand arsenal. Either sit on the seat at hunting height, or spin it around and out of your way for the ultimate whitetail perch. Either way, you’re totally silent and extremely secure.
It doesn’t matter how far you’ve got to hike… the OpenShot will let you get there. And once you’re there, the whitetail world will be right at your feet.
-On target- Can I say lightweight? The total weight of 14 pounds makes it nice for us hard core hunters to get back where the big bucks roam. The seat is actually pretty comfortable and the thing climbs easy and quite. The climbing stir-ups are a nice touch and really make a difference.
-Off target- This climber doesn’t have the normal bar that goes around your body like most climbers. I want to express the issue of using a safety belt as you climb.

I would say I agree with the review of the Openshot. Its an awesome stand!! The nice thing about this stand is its an affordable, lightweight climber. You have to step up $150.00 to find anything silimar from another manufacturer. I wasn’t willing to drop that kind of change.
This stand is great for getting back in deep where the big boys roam. I personally use it for public land so I can hike in far and take it with me when I’m finished so it doesn’t get stolen.
Despite the size, this stand is really comfortable! I know it doesn’t have the convenience of a climbing bar, but you have to accept that with 14 lbs. Also, the rapid climb stirrups are awesome! Its really nice to not have to bend over and fumble with pulling straps over your boots with gloves on, etc.
All in all, this is the best stand in my arsenal.
