Ted Nugent’s “Spirit of the Wild”
A life-long sportsman, Ted Nugent is passionate about the values that hunting instills in our youths. He aims to promote family values through father/son (or daughter) interaction in the outdoors.
On Target- Nugent’s passionate, informative and entertaining delivery kept me tuned in. You can sense the love he has for the sport and preserving its existence. It is comforting to see someone out there who is truly behind protecting our rights and our sport.
Off target- Sorry Nuge, but when you start talking about the “Mystical flight of the arrow” I want to hit fast forward on my Tivo and get to the next hunt. Tone it down on the elaborate spiritual talk. I don’t know if my arrows are mystical, but I do know they’re 310 fps of direct carbon killer speed.
Nuge is the man….He deservers an A for his efforts, not a B.
How do you justify your grading anyway?

I agree his spirit is a bit wild, but i guess thats the point of the show

I applaud Ted’s “The Physics of Spirituality” bowhunting audio cassestte that explains, in great detail, the basics of bowhunting. Bowhunting sure ain’t about arrowspeed.
It ain’t about “Mystical arrows” either. It’s about everything as a whole. I didn’t say Bowhunting was about arrowspeed. Read the review. We’re talking about a 30 minute TV show here. I like Ted, he’s great for the our sport.

Ted is great TV
More culture war on American tradition and culture. Leaving out the “mystical flight of the arrow,” is to leave out the bilief in God, and Gods part in the entire experience of life. What do you think the Spirit refers to in Spirit of the wild. Quit trying to hack God out of life!!! Ted puts it there for a reason… He truly believes.
I am not Hacking God out of anything. I am a true Christian and believe in him just as much as anyone. This is a review site and I am reviewing a TV show here. That’s it.

Nimrod is a Nimrod
The “mystical flight of the arrow” describes the shot as it is perfectly executed and the arrow gracefully archs into its intended target. A fitting description, that accurately describes why children and other first time archery shooter s become hooked on the sport.
Its a good grade. Teds show isnt an A….a solid B but not an A.
The best shows out there are made by Realtree, Primos and HS

Off target- Hunt a trophy every now and then. I know the “backstraps” are good on all sizes but I like seeing the 2 1/2 and 3 1/2’s grow up. Also, how come when he hunts his ranches there are all kinds of different game under his stands. From Axis deer, whitetail, to buffalo. what the heck.
I give Nuge his props soley on his music career. Dude can strum a 6 string.

No doubt. But I’m not reviewing his music. Nuge ought to be happy. If that’s all I could come up with on off target that’s saying something. He must be doing something right. Everyone is so serious. Come on laugh a little.

My arrows are most mystical and spiritual when the flight is executed alright! Especially when it smacks dead in the center lungs baby! Nuge you rule, but i agree the show is a B.

You know the ol` saying, opinions are like butts, everyones got one and everyone thinks everyone elses stinks. But in my stinky opinion, I thought the review the Critic gave was spot on.
Yea, the Nuge is fun to watch every now and then but nothing I run to the tube to watch. I think what he does for our sport is great and I don’t want to take any credit off him for that but when it comes to his show it’s subpar. Nuge if you read this keep up the good work, I’m glad we have you on our side, man.
Nuge your the man when it comes to standin up for our rights, but the show aint all that. Just my opinion.

I think to remove “mystical flight of the arrow” from Uncle Ted’s show and his other spirtual and heart felt descriptions would be a tragedy to my favorite hunting show. No outdoor show makes me as proud to be a sportsman as “Spirit of the Wild”. If I had to pick an off target for Uncle Teds totaly awesome wackin’ and stackin’ program I would say his shows don’t seem to run in any kind of order from week to week. Also I wish he would do less promotion of his music during his show even though I do enjoy his guitar pickin’. His show should have gotten an A just based on the fact that he promotes sportsmans rights so much more than any other show I have seen. He really makes you think about the gun grabbers and animal rights people every week.
